For the team's sixth model a new approach was used. At first the models were built around a population as a whole, but agent-based models view the population as a collection of individuals. The new approach allowed the team to add more details to the dynamic model, making it more reliable and realistic. With more details the model required more data, calculations and adjustments, and in order to minimize the amount of information processing, the team considered a small populated area. The model had a limited number of subjects that were able to intersect in points modeled to resemble grocery stores. The first agent-based allowed the team to explore the model's capabilities, but was not able to provide accurate estimations and forecasts.
